Building a Data-led Foundation to Achieve Success

Build a data-driven culture and become a prevention-focused regulator led by science, data, evidence and intelligence to help ensure a healthy environment that supports a livable and prosperous Victoria. 

EPA leveraged Gartner research and toolkits, particularly the data maturity tool to help establish a baseline for the organisation to measure against in the future and provide initial data literacy. The Chief Data and Insights Officer also worked with a Gartner Executive Partner to provide trusted insights into industry benchmarks, what peers are doing and what areas to focus on to stay ahead of the curve.

With support from Gartner for Executive Programs, the Chief Data and Insights Officer was able to stay inspired and challenged by connecting with peers and a Gartner Executive Partner to learn about best practices needed to deliver better solutions. They were also able to shape their thinking around how to leverage data better as part of a wider goal of developing a data and analytics strategy and understand what a good data governance framework looks like before building their own.
